Condolences
Gretchen Minney Friend February 13, 2013

I so admired the way that Jack approached his final journey.  None of us know exactly what we would do faced with a grim diagnosis, and Jack showed so much courage and grace to his final days.  We will miss him.

Bonnie, you know that I will be here for you on the good days and the bad days.

I read every word. How I wish I had had the chance to know Jack. We each  grew up on a farm .  We could have had great conversations.  I lived through the depression as he did. My family was lucky to be able to stay  on our farm but life was not easy. I remember needing a pattern to make a dress in Home Ec. A pattern cost 10 cents. My mother made me a pattern out of the newspaper. I was embarrassed to take it to school but never said a word. The dress I made was displayed in the school showcase. Jack and I could have relived those days. We both were probably better people for having lived through the depression.

Jack had a very interesting life. I"m so glad his story has been recorded. We should all do that. I was asked to tell my life story at one of my church Circles recently.  I wish it had been written down like Jack did.

Avis and Don Williams Condolence February 11, 2013

Bonnie, we are so sorry for your loss.  We hope that your many happy memories of time together will be a comfort to you..
We didn't really know Jack very well but we did feel we go got to know him more through Jenny
and John. They had many good stories about Jack and the fun times Jameson and Kelsey had with their grandfather.
We are greatful to Jack for raising an amazing daughter--Jenny and for sharing her with us as
she joined our family.

To Kim, Craig, Ryan, Logan, Bonnie and families

We are so sad to hear about Jack. What a wonderful gentle man he was.  We only met him a couple of times but were so looking forward to catching up with you next time we are over there.  So sad we will not see him again but he left us with special memories of his smiling face and joking manner. Our prayers are with you all at this time as I am sure you will miss him.

Kim Holmsen Thinking of you February 8, 2013

Dear Kim and the Carver family:

I am so sorry to hear about your dad passing away. I know it has been a long struggle and even though you knew it was inevitable, to lose a parent, especially one you loved so much, is devastating. I am so glad I got to meet your dad, he was a very special man. Please know I am here if you need anything. We are sending lots of love from the Holmsen family.

Dear Kim,

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know I am thinking about you. I am very, very sorry about your Dad's passing and wish - from experience (which I have) - there was something more useful that I might say or do rather than just express my sympathy. With that I just wish you some peace to get through, perspective to move forward and the fabulous memories I know that you must have of him to sustain you.

Yours, Lucy

Dear Kim, Craig, Ryan, Logan, Bonnie & Family

Reading Jack's biography and memories from family and friends made me sad that I didn't have the opportunity to know him.... he clearly is a wonderful and much loved man with a great spirit.  I'm sure you will always hold special memories of Jack in your hearts and you now have an angel in heaven who I'm sure will watch over his loved ones.  I'm sorry for your loss and you all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

With Love and Heartfelt Sympathy

Sally and Merle Miller to Bonnie and Jack February 5, 2013

Jack, I went to the Candles section and saw we only got to write a sentence or two. I want to write more so I came here. Jack, I want to thank you for being ok (as far as I knew) with Bonnie being so active with the Broomfield Dems, especially the Broomfield Women Dems.  She is so talented and we really needed her during those busy 4-5 years, especially for the silent auction when your house was filled with many, many items and signs. I am pretty sure politics was not your "cup of tea" but you were always gracious and kind to us.  At the annual Carter Dinner, I remember you standing on the side of the room as we hustled around getting things ready.  You were like the observant protector, there to help us if we needed it. Thanks again, Jack.

Jack, I always liked you but I have to say that I am jealous that you had horses in your life for such a long time.

Also, Merle wants to thank you for starting the tennis club at Lakewood High as he was there a few years after you. He enjoyed the sport so much then and even now.

Bonnie and the entire Carver family,

A few weeks ago I had the privledge of speaking with Jack for almost 40 minutes on the phone. We had a great conversation, jokes, laughing and generally talking about each other and our families. His spirit was high and his humor was , well just Jack. Yes, we talked about Jenny, Kim and of course Bonnie and how proud he was to see his family grow and become succesfull. He spoke of the love for the grandchildren ( we know because we have seven ourselfs) and how great it was to be with them. He spoke of what he and Bonnie had written, "20 reasons why it was ok to die". I had to laugh at the logic in his thinking. I am a little mad at Jack as I told him to be around the later part of April as I had to be in Denver for meetings that week. Told him we could get a little tennis in and lunch. I think he thought he may have to buy.

Jack we all will  miss you, the smile, the humor and always the attitude that brigten the mood of anyone near you. I know you will carry this with you to the next life.

God Bless,

Larry & Donna-Marie Acker
