Conversation at the dinner table:
Daddy: "Marcus and Daniel, I have something important to share with you. Grandpa Jack went to heaven. He's no longer with us."
Marcus: "I know who's going to miss him the most."
Daddy: "Who?"
Marcus: "Tony."

Of course, I never knew him. But I still thought he was one of the luckiest guys, ever. Thank you for making his life complete. Sometimes, people just need to be lucky.
I feel a lot of love for you, and what you have done with your life, and who you influenced, and who knew you. Your husband was a lucky person, and therefore, the people he came in contact with, as well.
Now that we are getting close to closing things out, we know who the lucky ones were.

Carver family - we are so sorry to hear about your father. It is the greatest blessing to have parents that love you so much and an even greater gift when you can have a close relationship through your lives. Kim and Jenny - you had a neat Dad. I remember meeting him over quasi Mexican food and alot of laughs in Sydney, so perfectly part of the Carver family.
All of our love goes to you. I hope you are comforted now by knowing how much your father loved you and knowing how that love is thread on to your own gorgeous children.
God bless, Jennifer and Bruce

I am sorry for your loss. I know there is always the starkness when things happen, even when we know what's to come. Jack will always have that wry smile of his etched in my memory, and I know your special care added to his final days. What an autobiography!! i hope I have the common sense and clarity to assess what faces us all!
Please know that you can call on Chris and I for any help you may need. ...even if it's just to sit and have a glass of wine, or go on a stroll. We won't intrude, but call when you feel like doing so!!
Jack is special, and we know you are too!!

KIM,
FROM PREVIOUS CONVERSATIONS I KNOW YOUR DAD WANTED TO DO THINGS ON HIS OWN TERMS AND I AM GLAD YOU WERE ABLE TO SAY GOODBYE TO HIM AND SPEND THE LAST FEW MONTHS TOGETHER.
I KNOW YOU SAID HE WAS A FISHERMAN AND YOU GOT TO GO WITH HIM BEFORE HE PASSED.
A SPECIAL TIME FOR YOU I AM SURE ....JUST WANTED TO PASS ON MY CONDOLENCES.
I AM SURE HE IS ALREADY FISHING IN A PLACE FAR GREATER THAN WE CAN IMAGINE .....
BEST,
TODD
